OTTO.de have always embraced new technologies and channels . With the
rise of smartphones and their growing share in online retail came the
need to optimize OTTO.de’s online shop for touch interaction. Fork
enthusiastically accepted the task of developing an interface and
interaction design in order to guarantee the best possible User
Experience when navigating the shop with mobile devices. As Fork had
previously been entrusted with the development of OTTO’s online
branding and design, the outcome was sure to be in- line with the
brand’s entire web-presence.
The resulting OTTO.de web-app is one of the most extensive mobile
commerce applications on the market. Its clear and well prioritized
design provides visual guidance and offers easy access to the
functional richness of the shop. On a level beyond user navigation,
the design took various OTTO-specific update processes into account,
thereby minimizing the shop’s overall maintenance workload.
