An audio guide for the pocket
An easy-to-use digital guide through the Futurium.
Museums are becoming increasingly digital and are playing with the new possibilities that this world offers them. With a new multimedia experience, we have added another digital touchpoint to the Futurium and given visitors the opportunity to discover the Futurium even better on their own. The new audio guide can easily be used as a PWA on visitors' personal devices when they visit the House of the Future, making it super easy to access.

It is important to us to supplement the Futurium visit with digital tools that have clear added value for the public. (...) This easy-to-use tool provides visitors with information on content and exhibits at the touch of a button. (...) Step by step, we are putting our Digital Futurium concept into practice.
Little Nubi accompanies visitors to the Futurium directly on site as a mascot. We have transferred the “good spirit” of a little robot into the digital world. And thus created identification at all levels. Visitors can find the little companion on the entire user journey, making it an integral part of the Futurium's history. Nubi also greets us in the audio guide and guides visitors through the digital world of Futurium with ease.
Bringing Nubi to Life
The audio guide extends the Futurium brand into a new digital platform. The new audio guide mascot Nubi has also been given its very own character. His body, made of dots, reacts to the audio waves of each audio file, giving the impression that Nubi himself is talking to the visitors during the tour. Nubi comes to life and takes on a certain humanity.
A guide at your own pace
We offer users 3 different entry points to the tours via our menu. By selecting a tour directly, we give them the opportunity to be guided through the exhibition via audio guide. If visitors are at a certain point in the Futurium and would like to discover it, they can select a guide via the map. Entering the exhibit codes also takes visitors directly to an audio journey through the Futurium. This ensures that visitors are picked up in the best possible way at every point of the journey.
The introduction of the audio guide opens up many possibilities for the Futurium through the new channel to bring the House of the Future closer to visitors - and above all to invite them to explore. And all without offering a physical guide. For visitors, this results in a decelerated discovery tour of the possibilities of the future. Everyone can discover the exhibitions at their own pace, repeat passages or even take a short break.

It was important for the audio guide to be modular and flexible enough to adapt to the constantly changing exhibitions. With our new audio guide, we are not restricting our exhibition curators, but supporting them with further access to their exhibition content.
Websites for everyone
Both the website and the audio guide should be as easy to use as possible for everyone. The digital accessibility that we previously introduced on the website has also been transferred to the audio guide. By clicking on the transcription button at the bottom right, users can read along while the audio is played. This gives all visitors the opportunity to follow the tour and have a similar experience. The topic of accessibility is playing an increasingly important role in website development.
